Hi friend and welcome!
I'm a forty-something wife, mom, business owner, DIYer, military spouse, volunteer and so much more. To say I wear many hats is an understatement but they're all nice and snug. I wouldn’t trade a single one of them for anything in the world.
Like so many, I’m in the trenches - struggling to juggle math lessons, laundry, and all that goes into military life - forgetting more often than not to take that frozen chicken out for dinner.
I was raised in Seabeck, a tiny little town on the Kitsap Peninsula across the Puget Sound from Seattle. I grew up in a very crafty, art-oriented family.
At a very young age, I was learning to paint, sew, draw, and appreciate hand-made things. My Grandmother - "Mum", could make almost anything with yarn, paint, fabric, & other mediums, while my Grandfather was the consummate woodworker, creating equally wonderful things made with expertise. I, too, love to create and enjoy sharing everything I make with others!
Fast forward 20 some years and I still have my hand in some kind of craft. Anything can be made into something wonderful with a bit of imagination.
Being a wife of a US Navy Submariner, I find a lot of pride in being part of our nation’s military family. PCS after PCS, like so many other military spouses, I got fed up with leaving job after job, just to start all over again in a new location. That's when I started my own business, {the little black boat.}, and help others do the same.
Whether it's to read about a recent move we've made, yet again, or to cheer me on when I'm having a bad day. THANK YOU!!!
Each and every one of your words and support keeps me going, and keeps me coming back to write! I hope you come back often.
GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Jessica was timely and incredibly professional. I look forward to doing business with her again. Thank you Jessica!
