One of the things I do quite often during my day is take my dogs out… this gives them some fresh air and of course time to do what they need to. One of the many things I enjoy in my yard is a huge tronkon guafi. What is that? It’s a large tree commonly known as a Fire Tree for its brightly colored blooms. I’ve taken several pictures of this tree and truly enjoy the view I get of it from my Stamping Space.
Today, as Jack and I were outside, I heard this huge cracking noise. I turned around to see half of the tree come crashing down to the ground. My heart was pounding so hard. Not only because it scared me, but also because I usually take Jack to do his business directly under that tree… for shade and so people don’t step in his mess while I go inside to get a bag to clean it up. Had I been under the tree a mere seconds before I wouldn’t be typing now. The what-ifs are astounding.
Here are a few pictures of the tree in its broken state.
I’ve called housing and they will be sending someone over to investigate whether the tree will have to be fully taken down or if its ok to stay up. I’m kind of torn because I love the tree but don’t want people to get hurt if it continues to fall apart.I’ll be sure to post more pics as the workers come…. sad day seeing the tree fall apart.
