I’m back to work at Navy Federal Credit Union and loving it. It’s so hard to explain. Each day goes so quickly and it’s wonderful getting back to a normal schedule again. The job changed a little since I left. I’m full-time now, which is fabulous. I was part-time before but working full-time hours and earning personal and sick leave at the part-time rate (which wasn’t fair). Before starting, Heather (the branch manager) worked really hard to get a higher earning rate so when I started my pay was far higher than I thought it would be.
Since starting to work, I’ve fallen off the earth when it comes to taking part with any Family Support Group stuff, which is a good and bad thing I guess. Good, because we all know how much drama can come out of a room full of estrogen, and bad because I’m beginning to miss some of the wives a ton. I do still see my Liz and Candy some… not as much as I’d like though.
Liz is going to be moving soon and I don’t know what I’m going to do when she leaves. She’s one of my best friends and I know that won’t change but it’s always hard saying good-bye to someone you’ve grown so accustomed to being around. It is part of the Navy life though, one of the parts I don’t like so much.
The Chief results came out this weekend. Matt and I will be celebrating with the Chiefs Quarters and their families tonight at the COB’s house. It’ll be nice to get together with everyone and congratulate the newest additions to the “Goat Locker”, Thurman and Carlson. I guess I should find out what their first names are as I won’t be calling them by their last names anymore… I hope to take some pictures tonight and I’ll post them sometime this week when I get a chance. 🙂
That’s all for now…
