Let’s Get Organized- Master Bedroom Closet

LET'S GET ORGANIZED

Today I’m sharing with you how I organized our Master Bedroom Closet. It’s an interesting space. While it isn’t small, it’s awkward but I worked with the space as best I could with some new containers and beautiful boxes.

Let’s jump right into it with the before pictures. We live in privatized Navy housing and are unable to make substantial changes. If we owned this house, the closets are one of the first things I would change, but that’s for another post.  The closet has two hanging rods. They’re not regular rods though. They’re the wire shelving kind, which I REALLY can’t stand. The shelves and rods are installed in an L shape.

This I can’t change as we have no room for them anywhere else. My treasured cedar chest will be stored while we’re in Guam.  The other one, you can see it in the picture above, will be going with us. On the right of the picture is a ledge of sorts. It’s about counter high. Underneath it are the stairs coming to the second floor.

I purchased shoe boxes from The Container Store for mine and my husband’s shoes. I never would have thought I’d need different sized boxes, but it makes a huge amount of sense. The boxes are well made, available individually or by the case (a much better deal), and are made right here in the US of A. YAY!!!

I also purchased two different sizes of the Kvarnvik Boxes from Ikea. I love how sleek and classic they are. I especially adore the label holder.

After a bit of purging with the very useful Keep, Donate, and Trash piles, I was able to make a new home for our clothes, belts, scarves, shoes, handbags, wallets, and anything else you might find in a bedroom closet.

Oh-so-much-better.

So pretty!!! I haven’t put labels on just yet, but it’s still beautiful. I keep my handbags, our sweatshirts, winter coats, and other seasonal clothes in the large boxes. In the smaller ones I store my scarves, wallets, belts, and I one is sitting empty. I’m sure that’ll change. I love these boxes!!!!!

Let's Get Organized Linkup- Master Bedroom Closet | JessicaFawn.comAll of my beauties. 🙂 I ended up using some of the Men’s Shoes Boxes for my sneakers. They didn’t fit in the Women’s Shoe Boxes because they’re a tad too tall. It still works well though. The little anchor tote was a Birthday gift from my Mama. I put shirts that need to be ironed in it.

While it isn’t my dream closet, it’ll do until we are move again and we have another space to work with.

What are your favorite organizing containers?
