Hello all… It’s been a while.
Since my last post, we’ve moved clear across the globe to Guam, again, and thankfully we’re settled. It was a long haul. Holden and I went without Matt since he had to take the boat clear around from Portsmouth, NH to our beautiful island home. We were apart for 7 months. I hope to never have to do that again… I’ll write more about that another time.
Today, I want to fast forward to the present…
It is July 2nd and on a normal July 2nd we’d be preparing for Independence Day. July 4th is one of my favorite holidays. Friends. Fireworks. BBQ. Celebrating America’s Birthday is always fun.Sadly, our birthday celebrations have been delayed due to Tropical Storm Chan-Hom. We’ve just taken all of our patio furniture in and received the official call from our ombudsman giving us the deadline to close our storm shutters (1600 this evening) and such.
We only experienced two storms during the five years we were here last time. We’ve been here six months and this is the third storm… cuuuu-ray-zay.
Our plans for the weekend included a command picnic on Friday and a BBQ at a dear friends house on Saturday night. I planned on making Cherry Salad. It’s not good for you in ANY healthy way, but good for your soul.
When all the festivities have been rescheduled, I’ll be sure to post the recipe along with pics .
I hope you all have a wonderful Independence Day! Celebrate safely but loud & proud.
Happy Independence Day!!!
