While all the talk of a government shutdown has slowed significantly and panic is no longer a factor for millions, there’s still something wrong with this picture.
His base pay, alone, should be at least $2,165.55. Now take deductions away, and only pay us for eight days, and we’re left with $899.09? I don’t think so. What about Sea pay, Sub pay, COLA, Special Duty pay… I could go on and on and on. But I won’t…
Before coming across this lovely mid-month LES (above), MyPay stated this…
… and then this, after logging in.
Forgive me for saying this, or writing it for that matter, but WTF. Seriously. Why all this, when the shutdown didn’t even happen? Who pushed the oh-sh*t-it’s-going-to-happen button before it was officially done. Now they’re telling us that we have to make sure our pay is right? Well, hell, I do that every payday, because it has been messed up before. How many mid-month, or EOM for that matter, paychecks will be truly messed up? I’ll bet more than they’re anticipating. And to make it an even bigger cluster… we’re moving so all of our pay is going to be screwy anyways.
UGH!!! Now that I’m done venting, I pray that each and every American that votes come 2012 remembers all of this shutdown mess, and remembers that parts of our government were gladly using our great nation’s military as bargaining chips.
Oh boy… I hope our pay isn’t completed wrong come the 15th.
