A TON of frustration

All of my frustrations began yesterday and I had no idea, until about an hour ago, that same frustration would be exploded, almost literally, clear till Saturday.

I’ll begin by telling you what happen yesterday so you’ll understand what I mean.

I started my day by going to the gym and then ran some errands only to return to the gym later in the day for another workout.  After an hour of working out I went to leave the gym to be told the building was on “lock-down due to some explosive ordnance that was found” in a construction area on base.  A new gym is being built next to the existing gym.  Explosive ordnance is found quite often where I live… where from you might ask?  Well, WWII.  The ordnance this time is a 1000 pound WWII era bomb.  Lovely.
I waited about 5 minutes then decided to workout some more since I had to wait anyways.  About 30 minutes later one of the employees from the gym came to me while I was on the treadmill and said the gym was being evacuated.  Needless to say I wasn’t sticking around.

Now onto why this frustration has exploded…

Today I found out EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) plans on removing said bomb on Saturday.  All of the housing area I live in, and most of the base, will be evacuated starting at 0900 (9 AM for those that aren’t familiar with military time) and will be given the all clear around 1400 (2 PM).  At first I thought, “ok, I’ll go shopping”.  But then what about my dogs.  I wasn’t going to leave them at home just in case something went wrong.  But where would I go with them for five hours?

I called my girlfriend, Candy, to let her know what was going on and luckily for her she lives off base and won’t be affected.  She invited me over to stay Friday night with the pups so come Saturday I’m already out of the blast zone.  Good to go.

I’ll tell you more when I can…
